We participated in a charity fundraising event in memory of Alison and to raise money for our wonderful local hospice (Willow Wood), who took such good care of Alison and who were also so supportive to her family. The event was a 3-kilometre Bubble Run which was great fun and it also provided a comfort for us all to get involved in something so positive to mark Alison’s memory. Our friends, colleagues and family were very generous, and we were delighted to raise over £1,200. After the event, the Co-operative Bank kindly added a further £100 to the total raised online.
We used an online fundraising portal to promote the event and to collect most of the sponsorship money/donations. These funds were paid electronically from the portal to Willow Wood Hospice and we were delighted to receive a thank you letter from Willow Wood shortly afterwards.
We wanted to produce a more permanent tribute to present to Alison’s family and to also to display in our offices. A creative suggestion came forward for us to design and produce a Charity Cheque Plaque. As well as making a great keepsake by which to remember our friend, it was a good way to promote the Charity going forward and also to promote the payment portal which helped us to collect the donations so efficiently.
The idea has developed further as people have asked us for different interpretations and applications of the Cheque Plaques.
We now offer commemorative Charity Fund Raising Cheque Plaques for crowd-funded fund-raising events, Charity Recognition Cheque Plaques to recognise companies who make substantial contributions to a specific Charity and Charity Funding Cheque Plaques, which publicise the funder and promote the many worthwhile projects which are funded by charities.
In short, our Cheque Plaques promote the good causes, recognise the fund raisers and we promote the charities to encourage further fundraising and support. They are visually impactive and a talking point which are great for raising interest and awareness.
The Charity Cheque Plaques work in a similar way to which the giant printed presentation cheques (like you see at TV based fundraising events) work, but where a Giant Cheque is great for gaining attention at a fund-raising event, our Charity Cheque Plaques provide a more permanent statement of recognition or memorial.
Our plaques are often displayed prominently and proudly in offices, corporate and public sector reception areas, other public areas and homes.
The approximate outer dimensions of a charity cheque plaque are 286mm Wide x 145mm High. These plaques are designed for internal display only and can be easily fixed to an internal wall using two small picture hooks or two small screws with rawlplugs. Please check that your wall is suitable to fix to and check to avoid wires and pipes prior to fixing. Please seek professional fitting advice where necessary. Fixings not supplied.
